At Gates Garden Centre, we designed a new restaurant within their expansive space – one that feels personal, warm, and rich in character.

With high ceilings and an open-plan layout, the challenge was to create intimacy while honoring the centre’s unique identity and values. Named Fred & Ivy’s, the concept is inspired by family heritage and storytelling.

The design strikes a balance between boldness and comfort, blending traditional details with expressive colours, layered textures, and carefully curated features. The result is a space that feels both grounded and distinctive—welcoming guests into an environment shaped by memory, personality, and modern design.
